Estructura

Cada Neighborhood Leadership Group (NLG) tiene cuatro comités para apoyar el trabajo de la comunidad. Comunicaciones, recursos comunitarios, evaluación y padres. Cada NLG tiene discusiones y llega a un acuerdo sobre áreas de prioridad. Los representantes de NLG comparten con el Grupo de Trabajo de Padres, que luego revisa y clasifica las prioridades. Los padres representantes comparten los resultados con el cuerpo de orientación de la comunidad, que revisa y hace recomendaciones. Structure

Each Neighborhood Leadership Group (NLG) has four committees to support the work of the community. Communications, Community Resource, Evaluation, and Parent. Each NLG has discussions and comes to an agreement on areas of priority. The NLG Representatives share with the Parent Task Force, which then reviews and ranks the priorities. The Parent Representatives share the results with the Community Guidance Body, which reviews and makes recommendations. The NLG Representatives vote, and then these priorities are brought back to the NLG for implementation.

ESTRATEGIA ANCLA

ANCHOR STRATEGY

Best Start Metro LA is exploring the intersecting systems that contribute to our community’s experience with drugs, including but not limited to city, county and statewide drug policies, how those are enforced, who is affected, and how all of those affect the learning, behavior and development of children, and impacts on families, communities and society.

LONG-TERM OUTCOME

(In development) After a Three-Part, Systems Thinking learning series, residents have surfaced three specific issue areas in relation to drugs: 1. Drugs in relation to mental health, 2. Drugs in relation to prescription drugs and addiction 3. Drugs in relation to policing and incarceration of vulnerable populations

Apoya el desarrollo y la implementación de estrategias que faciliten las conexiones sociales y atraigan a madres, padres y residentes en el trabajo de la asociación/colaborativ a comunitaria.

DATOS, APRENDIZAJE Y MEJORAMIENTO

Incorpora el uso de datos, reflexión regular y aprendizaje a nivel local y se coordina con el contratista de la red regional para apoyar el aprendizaje regional. También participa en actividades de aprendizaje y evaluación de First 5 LA, incluyendo la Agenda de Aprendizaje Best Start.

COORDINATOR AND SUPPORT

Provides all of the logistical support needed to plan, facilitate, and hold community partnership meetings, activities, and events. Also monitors the local landscape to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration with similar efforts.

CAPACITY BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Models effective practices, provides real-time coaching, and arranges for targeted technical assistance as needed to support individual and collective abilities to influence policies and systems that impact children and families in their community.

COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH

Supports the development and implementation of communications strategies that build the partnerships’ brand and visibility regionally and locally.

COMMUNITY-IDENTIFIED PROJECTS

Supports the ongoing planning, implementation, and reflection of projects identified by the community partnership to achieve the desired community change results.

RESIDENT, STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, AND ADVOCACY

Supports the development and implementation of strategies that facilitate social connections and engage parents and residents in the work of the community partnership.

DATA, LEARNING, AND IMPROVEMENT

Incorporates the use of data, regular reflection, and learning at the local level and coordinates with the regional network grantee to support regional learning. Also participates in First 5 LA learning and evaluation activities, including the Best Start Learning Agenda.

LOCAL RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

Attracts and leverages local resources (funding, donations, volunteer time) and relationships to support the work of the community partnerships beyond First 5 LA funding.
